They aren't necessarily normal weight... They just aren't clinically obese.

^ u seen a 'clinically obese' person Jeff? They're more than a little bit 'fat'. If you count people above their ideal weight then its a lot more. In QLD Australia we have about 65% people considerably over ideal weight and I'm sure most states would be pushing that figure as well.

jeff, 68 percent of america is "overweight" not obese, obese means it is having a damaging affect on your health in some way, being overweight could mean anything from being a tad bit chubby to being a fatass.

i really want to see the heatmap for percentage of people who are just overweight.

Recent data has suggested that we are seeing the same phenomena in the UK... as well as starting to develop in Europe. We eat too much and do too little exercise... We in the west, and our overconsumption, are one of the reasons there's a global food crisis, we eat 30% more than we should and we waste a stupid amount of food... So, despite global food production increases over the past 30 years, we've continued to eat more than our 'fair share', and got fat because of it...

I'm 6ft tall and six years ago when I was a part-time student, part time worker I weighed 11st, that's 154lbs or 70kg... I was lean and muscular. Now, after many years of a relatively lazy full-time student lifestyle I'm 14st (196lbs or 89kg) and somewhat out of shape. I've got fat (though everyone says I look better with the weight). And the reason for my weight gain is simple, my calorie intake is the same as it was when I was working, but now I'm not lifting 10-20 tons of product a shift and hauling it several miles a day.

6'3" here and I weigh a lardy 245 lbs. The thing I don't like about these methods of identifying overweight and obese peoples is that they go by a "standard" height-to-weight ratio and don't account for people above or below that due to physical make-up.

According to that ratio I need to be 216 lbs just to be considered BARELY below overweight. If I weight 216 pounds I'd look skinny as hell and potentially even malnourished.

Dear Male populated users of Shoutwire, please for the love of all that is good, stop trying to define women. One of the most absolutely annoying things a man can do is try to outline what turns women on and what turns us off. If anything, it’s much nicer when you admit you know absolutely nothing, which would be the truth. You want to turn women on and remain in their good books? Well- Tip number 1: Don’t act like a smart ass know it all. We know that you know abso...
