Just a thought i had when a friend asked me to come up with my 5 favorite musical acts of the last fifty years. I couldn't do it.

I could do five of the sixties...
the beatles
the who
hendrix
bob dylan
and the rolling stones

I could do five of the seventies... (no repeats from above)
Led Zeppelin
Pink Floyd
Fleetwood mac
Black Sabbath
The Clash

I could do five of the eighties...
Michael Jackson
Bruce Springsteen
Guns and Roses
U2
Van Halen

I could do five of the nineties...
Pearl Jam
Alice in Chains
REM
Nirvana
Red Hot Chili Peppers

And even five in the shitty 00's
Radiohead
My Morning Jacket
Bloc Party
Coldplay
and fuck ill bring back bob dylan cause this decade blows

I just cant narrow it down to 5 in all.
What are you guys thoughts on the best acts of all time? Of each decade. I'd like to know

To me music is largely timeless so I can't really do that (plus I have no idea who did what when)

Radiohead is probably one of the best on the list...Nirvana? I know for a fact that if he didn't take the cowards way out they would have went no where after the next few albums.

zOMG Bloc Party!!! Fuck yea!
I was surprised when i saw that for they're my favorite band

I hope they're next album will be better than A weekend in the city. Not that it was a terrible album or anything, cause it's pretty good,
but silent alarm and their other singles were bad ass

theres still amazingly talented bands making music today.

you just need to know where to look.

social networking sites are a good place to start, you will get lots of bad bands adding you but theres a deny button.

music magazines (not the nme) are also usefull.

just keep your ears out and dont let the television tell you who to listen to.

also try to get into your local music scene.

really if you dont your missing out hefty stile.

Horrible ninetys and eightys taste. The rest is mediocre.

ninetys should be like this.

Modest Mouse
Built to Spill
Neutral Milk Hotel
Sebadoh
Murder City Devils
Bright Eyes (sorry but conner obrest is very talented)

hahahahah dude seriously nirvana kinda sucks when your 15 its cool but come on there is so much better out during the ninetys. kurt cobain was just a junkie with punk riffs lol.

cheers to my morning jacket. but there are alot of good bands in the 00's

Okkervil River
Explosions in the Sky
Voxtrot
Grimy Styles
FTW Austin TX has the best bands ever

In britain during the 90's Oasis were probably the biggest band which even to this day have outstanding influence they should be second to Nirvana.

Well actually they have two all time greatest british albums under their belt "Defo Maybe" and "What's The Story" considering other legendary bands like Stone Roses and The Sex Pistols have only 1 album to boast about yet still carry a huge influence in the music world. The 90's was a good time for music and a great era to be a teen, to me it felt like the 60's in way music was good and so were the drugs, about 98 onward the music world went to shit and hasn't revived itself yet, probably never will or maybe I'm just getting old.

TusanOnline Lives Being Watched
Although this watching has been going on for years, and has led to many court cases because of illegal downloads, ISPs seem to want to take it one step further. In the UK most internet users will now know if they download illegally, they may receive a letter through the door stating anything from their internet connection has been cut, to court cases. At the end of the day that can be seen as justified, since they are technically stealing. But although they are steali...

ReaganI F*cking Hate What You've Become, America
Hello, my good friends and esteemed readers, Joe P. Reagan here. Today there is one question on my mind that I'm sure many of you share as well. America, what the f*ck are we doing?Today as I woke up and flicked on the tube, there was the most interesting and cute story. The story was done with the overlying theme of our valiant fight against all things terrorism and our need to continue to bring freedom to a savage world. The world is so dark and savage, apparent...
