Just a thought i had when a friend asked me to come up with my 5 favorite musical acts of the last fifty years. I couldn't do it.

I could do five of the sixties...
the beatles
the who
hendrix
bob dylan
and the rolling stones

I could do five of the seventies... (no repeats from above)
Led Zeppelin
Pink Floyd
Fleetwood mac
Black Sabbath
The Clash

I could do five of the eighties...
Michael Jackson
Bruce Springsteen
Guns and Roses
U2
Van Halen

I could do five of the nineties...
Pearl Jam
Alice in Chains
REM
Nirvana
Red Hot Chili Peppers

And even five in the shitty 00's
Radiohead
My Morning Jacket
Bloc Party
Coldplay
and fuck ill bring back bob dylan cause this decade blows

I just cant narrow it down to 5 in all.
What are you guys thoughts on the best acts of all time? Of each decade. I'd like to know

-Swap U2 for Metallica
-add the Doors and Simon and Garfunkel to the 60's (make an exception considering that decade was the shit)
-Queens of the Stone Age can replace Bob Dylan in the 00's
-The White Stripes replace anyone in the 00's except for Radiohead

Other than that, very decent list, albeit predictable.

Epic fail. You didn't even mention Queen and that's the only one worth noticing in the first place. Second big fail is forgetting ABBA. Third is The doors.

Also, where's The King? Or Madonna? I'm not saying I was a big fan of these two, but you put many acts on that list that really aren't worth mentioning in a top 5 and then you forget these two?

Jack White has no less talent at playing the guitar than Cobain but they both belong up there because of their ridiculous composing abilities. And yes, Meg sucks hard.

"The White Stripes replace anyone in the 00's"

Im sorry but White Stripes were THE WORST live band I have ever seen.
Agreed The Doors and Queen needed to be in there but I dont see anyone else on the list hat could be taken out.

60's - I would have the Velvet Underground in and the Beatles out, the Byrds in the Who out

70's - Deep Purple in and Black Sabbath out

80's - Talking Heads in and Guns and Roses out -

90's - Agreed

00's - The Kills in and Dylan out

I would have also included Blondie, but i'm not sure whether they should belong to the 70's or 80's.

EDIT; Damn, i forgot the Doors, Neil Young, Leonard Cohen and Clapton.

FidoFuck You, I Like My Bike
Up with bikes. Bicycles are the greatest invention since the wheel. Really, there are 2 wheels, making them doubly as good. The downside to bicycling is dealing with idiots in automobiles. White knuckled, bleary eyed buffoons in a hurry to go nowhere. Heads up during a collision, there’s no contest between a bike and a car, the car wins. The only upside is perhaps the opportunity to be thrown headfirst through the dumbfuck’s windshield and then be able in your blood...
