I am Pro Enviroment.

Who is anti enviroment?

The big guys in Washington say they are for the enviroment. They say they want everyone to "go green". Going green? Can we please get a definition?

Going green is to unnaturally change our country, our people, and most importantly our economy.

Carbon taxes, market regulations, and trade barriers and prohibitions galore, this country is being overrun with the same kind of guys that said, "God wills it" back when Christians fought their first crusade against islam.

Going green hurts our economy. How? Well our economy at its natural state doesnt need to go green. Well, not just yet. In its normal course of action, oil is still not high enough to cause the uproar of intellectuals and innovators that would change the way our "free" market is run from black to green. There is not enough polluted air for people to give enough shit for them to actually make changes in their lives.

Going green forces change onto the country, the economy, and its people. It is like taking a leg out of a stool and replacing it with play-doh. The stool held you up just fine before. When the leg gets old, you replace it and not just with some half asses play-doh. Nay sir! You go get a good ass leg. The stool once again supports you.

The same goes for our economy. In the past when shit has hit the fan, in the beauty of capitalism, money is to be made in cleaning that shit up. Innovators and brilliant minds go to work to find that pool of money.

When cars were too expensive, did the government bail everyones ass out by forcing everyone to sell their horse and buggie for a shitty car? No! Henry ford got a mind and made a better car. He found it still was too expensive so he paid all of his workers 5 dollars an hour. People in kansas still make that amount of money today! He did this so there would be money circulating the economy, to boost the value of the dollar, and in effect: so more people could afford to buy his cars.

So FUCK going green. This does not mean i am anti enviroment. This means Im pro the natural way of things, the market as well as the enviroment.

I'm not sure if I agree with you. Going green doesn't mean that we have to drastically change the economy, but rather we make little changes that make a big difference that helps the environment. Also, I disagree with your stool example, I think that "going green" is more of a way to make that stool better like getting rid of the rusted screws, giving it a fresh coat of paint etc. And I suppose I'm against the way capitalism is right now because it is really flawed since it is based on growth and profit and there is a limit. The question is what happens when we hit that limit? In the US many people lost theri homes because of sub prime mortgages, the bank of Canada blames it on China since they are so efficient. Since there is no other way to make more cost effective adjustments which increase profit. Many Americans probably in the thousands lost their homes because of it just as another means of gaining profit.

Well in theory there is no limit, but since we live on a finite world where there are finite resources, there is a limit and once that limit is hit we're fucked, that's why were going green......slowly

there are limits to markets, but not to the whole market. yes, products run out all the time. but there are new products developed NATURALLY to replace the depleted ones. my arguement is that we should let this happen naturally and not by some government mandate.

I understand what your saying by letting the market run naturally, but if we do this capitalism will just further exploit people, now don't get me wrong I'm not a communist (because it doesn't work), but if governments let the market run naturally many economies will suffer both US and Canadian. The US lumber economy will be pretty much destroyed and the Canadian dairy markets will lose more money then anything, since their subsidized. If governments do not subsidize these farmers, the farmers lose everything they have and most likely corporations will buy them out and exploit the farmers and animals to make more profits, just like what Monsanto did. Also, if the government leaves the economy alone, who knows what will happen. The economy might crash and if one economy crashes, it will hurt other countries. I believe Adam Smith 's idea of a lassiez faire (excuse the spelling) economy is wrong. And you misunderstood my last argument, my main criticism was about a sustainable planet. Products do run out all the time, but today most products are designed to be thrown out, so that more people can keep consuming. Since the earth is a closed system we have nowhere to get rid of this stuff and some of this stuff is made with toxic chemicals that further contaminate other resources , which further limits what we already have (btw I am not a hardcore environmentalist). Since capitalism is based on growth eventually the earth's resources will be depleted and when that happens we're fucked

If it is government sponsored tools and practices put into effect solely on their budget it will be great for America. However, this will never happen becuase we like to spend Billions every month on the war in Iraq. Just think what they money could be used for.

costofwar.com lists the total currently at: $511,120,819,282 and rising every second.

So really "going green" is a great idea but it should be on the governments budget. If they impose more strict environmental codes and force the corporations to pay for reprimanding this themselves it will be us who really pays for it in the end. So, Uncle Sam really needs to step in at this point.

Okay, good points
so...
the government should guide, not force

i didnt mean to sound ultra libertarian in this, i think there needs to be a balance. we should reward people/corporations for going green, not penalize those who don't.

The model-T Ford automobile was originally designed to run on Hemp Oil but was deemed too hard to mass produce at the time, thus Gasoline and Oil engines were used and still are today. The technology is very outdated.

FidoFuck You, I Like My Bike
Up with bikes. Bicycles are the greatest invention since the wheel. Really, there are 2 wheels, making them doubly as good. The downside to bicycling is dealing with idiots in automobiles. White knuckled, bleary eyed buffoons in a hurry to go nowhere. Heads up during a collision, there’s no contest between a bike and a car, the car wins. The only upside is perhaps the opportunity to be thrown headfirst through the dumbfuck’s windshield and then be able in your blood...
