As quickly as Mario could rob a brick of golden coins, an Italian was recently caught hypnotizing a woman on videotape, then using his powers of influence to rob her clean.

Now this is something I find highly suspicious, but you be the judge.

I'm not sure exactly what the guy at the cash register does but Darren Brown just uses psychological tricks. You get someone in that feel good help someone out mode of thought by being friendly and asking for directions, etc...and while they are still in that "friendly giver" sort of state you just ask for anything such as their wallet, watch, etc. Without thinking some people will continue to "help" you, and then moments later realize they've been had. Of course if done in a crowded street you could easily disappear in seconds.
