I don't speak for everyone, or anyone other than myself for that matter. These are just some observations of mine.
Apathy is not an inherit human trait. It's something that is self educated to people at some point in life, usually early on in childhood development. If a child or person repeatedly asks or requests something and are put off or denied often enough they learn not to expect too much of anything.
Most politicians who are in office come from money. It's mostly the local city officials that are like the average Joe. They work not only for their community but also maintain a business or career of some sort. They know the people in their communities because they live in it and are a daily part of it.
But the higher up one goes on the political ladder the more frequently they notice that the officials live in the best neighborhoods or in their own private compounds. They're more removed from street level society than a hermit living in the Appalachians. Yet they profess to be "for the common man". That would be akin to me being versed in nuclear physics because I live in the same state as a University.
It's because of this disassociation from the public that causes many high level politicians to promise this, that, and the other thing without no real plan to implement those promises. And they do it every November.
We, the common folk who pay out the ass for public services, are left feeling as though we are lied to, repeatedly. This sense of betrayal leaves us jaded. We learn from repeated abuse that everyone in politics is a scumbag out only for themselves and play ear service to us because they need us more than we need them.
And we really don't need them. Not one shitty itty bit.
But we have idiots galore. People who are so dense that they sue a corporation because they didn't think the hot coffee they just ordered would be hot, and if spilled, may cause harm. So the fools look to the politicians to protect them from themselves, and this fucks it up for the rest of us free thinking and rational individuals.
Politicians cater to these dimwits. They feed them every thing they want to hear in the form of a campaign promise knowing full well they'll never do whatever it is they promised to do. These fools suck up these lies like they were manna from the heavens. Every time. Without fail. And fuck it up for the rest of us.
We are out numbered by the morons and fighting against them or trying to prove them wrong invokes a lot of "nuh-uh" ing and quoting from whatever religious text they have. They leave us defeated because of their narrow mindedness and inability to see the larger picture.
And the politicians EAT THIS SHIT UP. They know that these folks are gullible and they take full advantage of that fact, making them even worse than, well, Pure Ebilness (yes, I spelled it with a "b" because the "b" is more evil than the "v") itself.
We don't care anymore because it's always fruitless. We try our damnedest to elect a politician with strength of character, morals, and a sense of honor and we always fail because the idiots out number the intellectuals. Our country has stopped caring because the inmates have taken over the asylum and distributed the power to one of their own.
