Just thought I'd give my two cents.

"Now ask yourself this, would you give your car to a twelve year old?"

As much as I want to say yes... No, of course not. However it takes a lot of work to kill someone over the internet. (trust me i've tried) and only in a few rare cases does it work (a 30ish and a 19 year old woman harrassed a girl into commiting suicide by pretending to be a boy on myspace, then telling her to kill herself).

Car accidents happen every day where people are killed. That metaphor was a bit exaggerated... The internet is not that dangerous and even if i agreed with you that it was just as dangerous as a car, it is like a 10 ton ball bearing that has been nudged towards the edge of a hill. The ball is rolling and it can not be stopped.

The problem is that they do not know what to do with their private moments.

Ah, okay.
That is very true as not just youths but the ever increasing "grups" do the same thing nowadays.

I'd say the "elders" in our society are to blame now rather than the ever advancing technology. They are not properly teaching kids about family, life, religion, morals etc. Rather, they seem to have the desire to become younger and "fit in" with their children.
In turn, the youths of this society aren't learning to differentiate between private and public and so many families are being separated from the inside. For example, mother and father are usually at work, kids spend time with media mainly rather than on their education. The parents should properly regulate the times when their kids do what and monitor what their kids are doing.
A lot families now that are breaking apart slowly from the inside have their problem stem from simply not having family outings, family dinners, or anything to do with family. It is then more like living with roommates rather than mother, father, brother, sister.

Back to your point, I agree that private and public matters, are like the earth and the sky, which are completely different, are now being melted into one being.
Though I can only think of one way to fix this, by bringing this to attention. But there are other ways I'm sure and can't think of any others =P

They don't know what to do in their own private life.

I assume by private you mean from without other contacts (friends, gf). You do things as an individual. I mean sure masturbation is alright sometimes, but "You do want a partner, don't you son?".

People used to read on their own -- I have a hard time with books. I listen to music when im alone. I play solo-games, I eat food. I workout...

Well, I think that it's all the parent's fault. Spankings need to happen. Kids need to know that there will always be someone better than them. Teachers need to start punishing kids again and not worrying about failing a student because the school won't get as much funding. If we are harder on the youth they will adapt and grow stronger. If we give them fucking hammocks and lemonade they're not going to do shit except demand refills. Also what the hell is with people worried about kids playing tag and dodgeball? I'm just waiting for Asia to start spreading a few of its family values to the west.

FidoQuick Take On The RNC
Being an open minded individual, I decided to spend a couple hours watching the Republican national convention in St Paul, or Minneapolis, Minnesota, or wherever it is. I had initially tuned in to watch Sarah Palin’s address, in order to maybe get a read on what she may be all about. I regret that I couldn’t get that far. After viewing Mitt Romney, Mike Huckabee and Rudy Giuliani speak to the delegates, I felt an overwhelming need to seek asylum in another country. ...

This interview was compiled by myself and the great Nodnarb232001.
