Say what you will about comic books, one thing that is for certain is that the books and characters contained within represent an expanding market.

Perhaps this is due to elements of escapism in a somewhat sad world that can leave one perturbed, or maybe it's a simple throwback to our childhood memories. Whatever the case, comics and their characters have been making a comeback in popularity among many crowds.

This trend is most evident in hero genre movies. Coming off recent comic genre flicks such as Spiderman 3, Xmen 3, 300 and Superman Bores..err, Returns (which still did somewhat well, for a soap-opera), upcoming blockbusters to be released include Iron Man, The Dark Knight and of course, The Incredible Hulk.

As a comic geek would quickly note, the aforementioned releases (among others unnamed) - which have received a nice dose of heavy marketing - are mainly releases from Marvel Comics. There is even speculation that the Marvel enterprise will consider expanding heavily into film production. It seems to be the way of the future for characters once bound to color filled pages.

One of the latest releases to hit advertising market is a new, improved Hulk movie. Earlier, Superman Returns was mentioned as being somewhat a bore in theaters. That is an understatement. It was a colossal super-bore.

In terms of set and stage, the film had stately elegance that will endure. In terms of action and escapism, the bread and butter of why guys like hero movies, the movie lacked. That's why it wasn't huge huge.

Even though Bryan Singer admitted his greedy director's error (albeit not directly) and promised a more action-packed wtf?! did you see that scene! thriller mixed with excellent plot next time, it seems Hulk is going to get such things right, right now.

The movie will pit a purple-pants, Incredible 'Smash it ALL like a pop-up ad' Hulk versus an equally nasty, vicious and habitual-smasher Abomination. They will be fighting in New York. No care for destruction and mayhem. You can do the math.

Abomination, appearing a smidge orange here from just smashing up a building 'real good like', will be Hulk's main foe in upcoming movie. Rumor has it that their rage was piqued after browsing ShoutWire and getting a #$*)#$ pop-up ad and Ebay redirect.

If a decent plot and camera/CGI is applied to this film, whoa Nelly. Look out. You can be the judge of how the film looks so far from the first cinematic trailer release. Enjoy:
