On the second of August 1990, Saddam Hussein Invaded Kuwait City. I was on my way back from Guantanamo Bay in Cuba when I got word that we would be going to Iraq. We had just finished building Camp X-Ray, which is now famous for housing terrorists and prisoners connected with the 9/11 attacks. During the time of the actual ground offensive, I wrote articles to my hometown newspaper telling of the experiences we faced during that time. This is one of those stories.

Where can I find a generator that spews random incoherent crap like this so called editorial.

I know this is a budding site and can't be too choosy about these "editorials" but lately most have been going to shit.

Please try to adhere from bombarding my brain with such utter nonsense in the future.

Yes, listen to user 'AccidentallyOnPurpose' and make all future posts about bashing Bush and saying that 9/11 was a conspiracy and that the war in Iraq was just an excuse to practice baby killing. Cause apparantly thats all that everyone wants to read about.[/end sarcasm]

I don't care about "posts" or "opinions". Every half witted moron is entitled to one.

I only raised the point because said person is either an "editor", "mod" or what have you. The lasy thing I need from the "enlightend" ones of this website is not to bullshit us and stick to reality.

Do you actually expect me to beleive this so called heroic endavour when said author claims fighting with self labelled "misfits" and pretending the whole world to be a whole lot safer now. It even hasn't nothing to do with the current situation and I wonder what got this "corporal" to bring it up unless it was blind patriotism or the clueless ramblings of a madman.

This post has nothing to offer to any issue in sync with reality. A piece on "Why I love my little unicorn" would have been more appropriate.

@Accidentallyonpurpose

Ever been to war?
Ever had anyone shoot at you to try and kill you?
Ever actually had to kill another human being in order to survive?
Ever have to live with that for the rest of your life?

Trust me, those "misfits" came home hereos and men. believe me I've seen boys sent to war and trained them and kept them alive during combat, they were sent home no longer boys.

get a grip on your views of "blind patriotism". You have no idea what your talking about. Your probably pissed that the Air Force wouldn't take your GED from the Video Professor Institute! Peace.

i'm as american as you are.

born here, rasied here. still living here. i love this country and it pains me to see such blatant ignorance and narrowmindedness becoming so mainstream.

it pains me to see leaders lying about possible threats to scare my fellow man into giving up his freedoms. it scares me to review history and see what procedures (executive orders) have been put in place to completely eradicate our freedoms.

it pains me to see multi-national corporations paying government agencies to help commercial airlines fill the skies above me with chemicals; and to see only one brave man in congress (dennis kucinich) even attempting to introduce measures to address this problem.

and it pains me to see my friends getting out of high school and joining the military because they think it is the "right thing to do."

this country has a lot of domestic problems and this iraq war is as big of a mess as our current social condition is. except we're not supposed to focus on what chaos we're creating. which is allegedly part of "the plan"--secretly create such a hellstorm environment that seems to be unstopable, then impose martial law creating order out of chaos--a situation which gives them even more control and us less freedoms. at which point, big business will reap the rewards (with no-bid government contracts) and the politicians with their stock portfolios will have succeeded in getting away with our money one more time.

the truth of the matter is that war doesn't solve any problems. okay, we had the revolutionary war and gained our freedom, right? the colonies were a different place than what the us is today and a revolution is the only war that can ever be considered justifiable. when individuals use power and force to oppress a people, those displace persons have a duty to assess their rights; violently, if such a drastic measure is warranted. unfortunately, we seem to have drifted into this far-too-comfortable relationship with the british crown who, as the entire globe knows, have always had a knack for being ambitiously imperialistic. a lot of people got rich off the revolutionary war, and it wasn't the 13 colonies. the initial cause of the revolutionary war was the ruling elite in america not wanting to pay taxes. they made money from imports, and importing required you pay a tax. besides, depending upon which version of history you believe, the revolutionary war could've been set up by the european black nobility. so who the fuck really knows?

the civil war, you probably assume, was fought solely for the purpose of abolishing slavery. the war began as the south demanded more state rights. when they were denied these rights, they attempted to secede from the union. slavery became an issue when the north made it illegal so as to drive the european bankers away from supporting the south. the bankers wanted to make money, not be publicly deemed slavery supporters. the south had european support because lincoln in the north, had planned to replace the monetary system with his "Greenbacks,"--non-taxable legal tender which would cut off the european bankers completely.

kennedy attempted the same thing when he had his own money printed. and he was taken out just like lincoln was.

banks have money. money is power. power can start and stop wars. as long as we, the average citizen, justify killing other average citizens across the globe, then we give those behind such conflicts even more power. they then have not just a hold on our money but also our emotions and therefore our actions.

if war weren't a business, then why lean on only the military/government agencies instead of also incorporating state militia in protecting "national security?"

because state militia can't buy nearly as many weapons as the army/air force/cia can, remember? they're using OUR money for causes most of us don't support. including psychological warfare (factless propaganda campaigns) on everything from newspapers to internet, tv to radio, in order to gain support for more of their wars.

that's the truth. if you can't handle it, then go to sleep. rest assured, the war machine keeps turning.

You know what really fucks me off? How Americans think they saved our asses in WW2. Yes the US inclusion helped, but it didn't save us. The heroic thing would have been to come in right at the beginning and not when it was convenient for them, thus costing too many 'allied' lives.

Get your head out your McAsses, you're not that great.

Hey SeriousSam, an island nation could not have survived a prolonged war of attrition against an 'empire' that controlled all of Europe, if it were not for "Lend Lease", which gave england countless planes and over 50 destroyers, and eventual US direct involvement, it was only a matter of time before the UK would have fallen. Don't take my word for it, try reading some of Winston Churchill's speeches from back then, as well as reading a history book or two.

I dare a French person to come on here and say America did not save their ass, in either world war. lol.
