Where eagles dare is a GREAT song, requiem by mozart is a classic, and do i have to defend the beatles? And as far as scatman, its just a way of belittling the people who got "owned" even more with a song that is so comical durring something that, to a lot of people, was very appalling.

So, after the Guild leaders of Serenity Now hunted this girl down in real life for her disparaging remarks in WoW, abducted her, raped and sodomized her, tortured and murdered her, then sexually abused the corpse for several days before dumping it, rotting and naked on the lawn of her parent's church, they disrupted the religious funeral services in the real world by running in naked, upsetting the coffin, AGAIN raping the corpse, this time in front of her family and friends, and beating the attendees summarily to death. Who could be surprised that they decided to also ambush the stupid WoW funeral? There's no REAL action to be had in WoW. No rape, no sodomy, and the corpses don't even stink when they rot! What's REALLY funny is that I have your little sister tied up downstairs in the basement, and when I get done writing this I am going to go to town on her with a Hobart meat slicer and five pounds of salt, just to hear her scream!! so you all know, this had some key flaws in it. First of all, if this happened in the home territory of the funeral, everyone would need to be marked for Player VS Player. Second, if this was in the home territory, than no way in hell would a 40 person raid get through all those places w/o bitting the big one. Third is the flaw of the tought patterns of the parties involved. IT IS JUST A GAME! DEAL WITH LIFE IN THE REAL WORLD AND DEAL WITH FANTASY IN THE GAME WORLD! Sorry about the dead guy though...

I noticed this new because a friend of mine just send me the link. I was to busy to read, so now that I have a little time I'd like to say a couple of things.

First of all, I agree that the main thing is we are talking about a game. I don't forget the point. That's completely true... But there's a "we". "We" the "people", the "human beings -or something like that-", are the ones that play in indeed. So it's difficult, not to say impossible, to get free from feelings while playing.

It could sound amazing for someone how online life mixes with the real one but... Just think a bit, for God sake... How many of you have been in love with someone on the other side of the screen? And, if not, how many of you know a friend or someone who did?

Yes, it's just a game, but there's people playing in it. You can have friends that maybe you'll die without seen then face to face, without sharing a coffee or a beer... But they were alive still. They listened to your problems, they shared your jokes, they tried to gave you their strength when you were down...

And maybe, just maybe, that game was the opportunity to share something and have fun together. Because one was from I don't know, London, and the other from Germany; or they were both from EUA but from different and distant states.

It seems crazy now, but thirty years in the future this will be as natural as phoning someone to talk. You just will meet on a server to have a "coffee" or go shopping online. It sound mad but... Strangers things had happen so...

And, besides, even if we think it's just a game, there's something called respect. Yes, I know it's a very strange word that people knows less everyday goes by... But I think it still is on the dictionary, and teachers try their best to teach that value.

So, maybe, respect and politeness is another reason to had left that people have their memorial.

It's too easy to laugh at them. Poor guys, with their sad on-line life. But imagine for a moment, the guy who died was your friend. And he lived 2000 km far from you (excuse me, i don't know about miles), and you couldn't go to his realf life memorial, and decided to say him farewell in the only place you know you can do it with the rest of your friends.

And then, some little hooligans came and bring troubble with them, and their unrespectable behaviour. But... Hey... It's just a game.

Would you think that? Or would you think they're laughing at your dead mate? They're laughing from you for feeling the way you do.

Maybe they were just too young to know what to lose a friend is. That happens also online, you on't know how old the other is. So it's plenty full of youngers too, that don't think about what they're doing.

Before telling "it's just a game", think about it. Think how would have felt if he was your friend, your mate, your man-to-be.

You have the right to remember someone the way you prefer or the way you just can. So why a real life memorial has much more significance than the wow one? It's just a ceremony to remember a beloved humen being.
