Why do so many people love or hate Paris Hilton? Why am I writing about it? Why haven't you clicked the link already?
As I was driving home from work a couple of weeks ago I noticed a black SUV with a "Free Paris Now" sign emblazoned on its rear window. Being a curious bastard I couldn't restrain myself from getting
a look at the driver of this vehicle. An illegal lane change and 2 or 3 moving violations later I was able to steal a peek at the driver of the "free Paris mobile."
To my surprise, the driver was an important businessman in his late twenties. At least, I assume he was
important because he was wearing a suit and chatting on his blue tooth ear piece. If anything screams "look at me, I'm important" it's definitely a blue tooth ear piece.
My first thought was that the sign was part of a hilarious office prank, but after making a note to do the same to my boss's Sebring I had second guesses. First of all, it was on the window. He'd have to see it every time he checked his mirror. Secondly, it wasn't an impromptu sign. Somebody actually took the time to print this thing on their computer. And come to think of it, there was no flashy light on his fancy ear piece. He was just wearing it for no reason and singing along with the radio.
Maybe his kid made him do it. I searched for signs of a daughter: soccer sticker, honor student, (yeah, right!) toys in the car, pom poms, a purse, anything... but there wasn't anything in the car to indicate his kid put it there. This guy was actually upset about Paris going to jail. We all know that if she were any other celebrity (except maybe Britney or Lindsey) she'd have gotten off. Conversely, if she were any regular Jane she'd have gotten way more jail time. I don't really want to discuss that. It's just how things work in America.
What gets me is why did this guy, or anybody for that matter, actually care? Why do so many people love or hate Paris Hilton? Why am I writing about it? Why do people wear those stupid blue tooth headsets around all the time when they're not on the phone? Do they realize how stupid they look?
As far as liking Paris goes, she hasn't really done anything significant to deserve fans. She recorded an album - it was terrible. Only 75,000 of you bought it. Vanilla Ice's last album outsold it. Ya, he's still producing albums. Yes, they suck too. Where was I?
She was in a few movies - they also stunk. Go ahead, name one. I dare you. Her TV show stunk too, just not as much compared to her other ventures.
She also had a sex video. Take it from somebody who's seen it: She's not any good at that either. I guess practice doesn't make perfect.
Taking all of her failures into account, I'm confused as to why girls see her as a role model. Of course thinking back to the last post I did here, it all starts to make sense.
As for those of you who hate her, that doesn't quite make any sense either. Tons of people were born into money that they didn't earn. Take our president for example. Even Donald Trump was born into money - a lot of which he lost on now bankrupt businesses - yet millions tuned in every week to watch his TV show.
You don't see this much hatred for old supermodels who practically do nothing all day. Whatever happened to Sarah Michelle Geller anyway? What about all the other washed up models, actresses, porn stars etc. Why does Paris get the front page whenever she's photographed showing off her catchers mitt or checking into rehab? Tons of other "models" do nothing all day long and I don't hear about it. That's the way it should be.
For those of you who do hate her this will be the first and only time I mention Paris Hilton in one of my articles - because frankly I don't care about her. I don't see why anybody else does either. Perhaps you can tell me. You DID click the link.
