It’s not just about getting stoned and playing computer games. Marijuana and computers come together in much more productive ways.

I also always made the argument that you could easily hide the power spike of 1 or 2 thousand watts of bulbs with 3-5 high-powered computers shutting off in the cycles of the growing bulbs.

Also, as we all know, the Cannabis plant is one of the Earth's most versatile plant. I know it doesn't apply to the chronic strains, but your average bud plant can flourish anywhere between 60 to 112 degrees.

Good stuff. Also

With a CMF fan (computer fan), 12v A/C adapter and some wire caps you can run your fan(s) from a power bar rather than a computer power supply.

If you're growing on a budget, two 6' florescent shop lights (4x 80 watt bulbs) will work for 2 - 3 plants. And only cost around $50. Secondly, after they're rooted, train them and grow them horizontally so they receive more light.
Depending on the strain and your abilities, you could expect up to an ounce.
Edit: You'd want to use 2x cool lights and 2x warm for the different spectrum.

Basic tips.
- Go easy on the fertilizer
- Your plants will tell you when they need water! Don't over water!
- Keep your grow a SECRET!
- Read as much as you can on the subject. Learn about nutrients, disorders, light schedules and more!

Marijuana is a scapegoat, plain and simple. It's a wonderful plant, and every time I grow it's a rewarding and enjoyable experience, and I don't even smoke it or sell it :)

marijuana actualy evolved from the himalayas area, it will grow in any environment from sandy desert to rocky mountains, as long as it has open sunlight.

" Anyone that uses the term 'Skunk' as a generic word for strong weed deserves to be ignored."

skunk is probably the most common strain in england, ether that or over thier they realy DO use skunk as slang for good weed like "dank" or "headys".
i actualy beleive that a strain of weed could be that addictive and mentaly damaging, the shit could be geneticly altered and sometimes laced with all types of shit. if people can put fish genes in tomatos to keep them from getting damaged when there is an early freeze then they can put whatever the fuck they want in weed. i could honestly see some people freaking out from one good toke of geneticly altered super weed and it being more adictive than lsd + e (slang term: "candy flipping"), seeing as both of those drugs arent that adictive, just like you said. iv seen some pretty stupid people do some pretty fiendish things for weed, just like iv seen people do feindish things to aquire things far less adictive than weed ever could be, it just dempends on the person.

QUOTE>> "but your average bud plant can flourish anywhere between 60 to 112 degrees."

Your plants won't die at such high temps, but growth will slow to a crawl. This can add months to your harvest deadline.

From my experience, ideal temps are 70-75 F during the light period and 60-65 F during the dark period.
quote>> "I also always made the argument that you could easily hide the power spike of 1 or 2 thousand watts of bulbs with 3-5 high-powered computers shutting off in the cycles of the growing bulbs."

According to my light meter, there isn't a hell of a lot of difference between a 1000W and a 600W. You get a bit more light, but it consumes too much power to make it worth it. Plus the heat output of the 1000W is insane. You're better off using the smaller bulb.

Also, install a sauna. It's the ultimate cover for power consumption.

Haha I used to splice them into an extension cord and plug them directly into a 120V outlet. They ran for 4 months without bursting into flames :) I totally recommend using an adapter, though.

It takes a lot more than that to get decent buds.

install an automated irrigation system while you're at it with soil-moisture sensors interfaced with your computer to keep the water content in the soil within acceptable limits

@canadachris

The automated system comes with all of the sensors. It can automate any type of hydro set-up, be it ebb-and-flow, drip emitter, aeroponic, whatever.

I don't see why the sensors couldn't work with a soil medium as well though.
