Yes, I realize this information about Dr. Laura and this attempt to call her out on her stance is not new. Sadly, I was hoping that it would spark some intelligent discussions; although, admittedly, I do find it funny that someone turned the table on her to wit she could not find suitable answers.

In many states in 2004, "marriage protection" amendments were overwhelmingly approved in several US states. Why does marriage need protecting? I've been married for 13 years and it's never been threatened by someone of a different sexual orientation as my wife or I. Adultery, drugs, finances and many other things are a danger to marriage, but not homosexuality.

Neo-activist want to add a Constitutional Amendment to protect marriage? No, what they want is legal discrimination against people they don't understand. In the U.S. the only time the Constitution has been amended is for "inclusion" of rights for people and now they want a way to "exclude" people from their inalienable rights. All of this is based on religous beliefs; but if we are to do so, we would further have to amend this great document to say that the government and nation can have a sponsor a central religion. At which point we may as well bring back servitude, reverse women's rights and the lists goes on because all of which are sanctioned in the great book.

This "letter" is really an old "e-mail" spam that was sent around. It is fake! I repeat fake and was meant to poke fun at the Bible. One of the stupidest things people do is try to quote the Bible to discount things the Bible teaches. Most of these people probably heard the quote on some TV show (West Wing yes, i saw that episode) and don't really know the context of it. Even people who use quotes from the Bible to explain to people how to lead their lives rarely use quotes in context. You can't just quote John 3:16, you need to read the book of John! in order to get any real meaning. Anyways even though this letter was a fake. The reason why Christians (i can't speak for other religions) still disagree with homosexuality but are no longer required to give burnt offerings is that after Jesus came and taught he denounced some of the "old laws" but kept others, such as a stance against homosexuality. Whether homosexuality is right or wrong is a different debate but that ends the "The Bible is contradicting about it's stance on homosexuality debate"

Proverbs 14:2
"He whose walk is upright fears the LORD, but he whose ways are devious despises him"

How many of you that quoted the Bible actually had one within arms reach?

lol well of course its gonna say that... imma create a book and call it 'bible for retarded ass people' cuz obviously thats what all of u that use religion as an excuse are. w/e happened to love, respect and all that other crap the bible teaches u? oh that just doesnt go for gay people right? does that make u better than them? wut about the homosexuals that are also religious? seriously people do wut u want and follow wutever u want but it isnt right to think ur a good christian or catholic if u gay bash just cuz the stupid bible said so. look where religions has taken this world to...suicide bombers and two countries fightin over a piece of shit land thats considered holy but is destroyed up the wazoo from all the fighting. we got an american president thats using religion to fuck up this world. so i must know something... if u kill a homosexual are u still goin to heaven cuz homosexuality is considered an abomination? or do u just gotta beg for forgiveness and all ur sins would magically disappear and be forgotten. i guess that means god loves u all, cept homos right? i would be more scared bout those molester priests or the ones that jack ur money so he can go and buy himself the new bmw 7 series he's always wanted. so with this i say god bless u all and god bless america, and only america, cuz apparently he does not care about anyone else.

"To many Christian readers, Leviticus is not literally about law or regulations for worship, but instead a prophecy prefiguring Jesus, regarding in particular, his crucifixion as a sin offering."

In the last century there has been a huge decline in morals and what is accepted by people. If you go back through the years you see how views on certain behaviour has changed. Divorce used to be seriously frowned on, and was not very common. Premarital sex was also seen as a dishonourable thing to do. Eventually these all got more and more dampened down in how severe they were and today that sort of behaviour seems totally acceptable and is a constant theme on many t.v. series/sitcoms/dramas ect ect. Homosexuality was seen as a terrible thing to commit as well before this whole liberal 'alternative lifestyle' idea started to plague the nations. Now homosexuality is seen as acceptable by many people and is becoming less and less of an issue. I see a pattern here. People that are homosexual are said to be born that way and can't help it. Eventually it looks like paedophiles will start being seen as born that way and eventually that sort of behaviour will begin to be accepted under some circumstances. This attitude of alternate lifestyles being a good thing and perfectly natural is a slippery slope which will lead to disaster.
