I just cant beleive people in the 21st century can caution the death sentence. If you beleive that a person should suffer what he has inflicted on others then where the hell is our morality and ethics.
How can people be happy about a justice system based on vengence. An individual has no rights to take the law in his own hands, if he does choose to do so he will have to be sentenced by the justice system, in this case who will sentence the murderer? its a paradox period...

This is almost a 3 year trial and it just so happens that the verdict (which completely omits anything to do with the admited US involvement) is reached days before the elections.

Saddam is an evil man and deserves his hanging, but his trial was hardly fair and compeltely and utterly staged.

I think that he's getting what he deserves but I cant help felling sorry for him for the main reason being that Bush and friends get away with worse. Bush should be swinging along side Saddam but we all know nothing will be done about it?…… and what's with this war on terror making the world safer all its doing is causing more.

Israel are just as bad as the Terrorists but Bush supports them what's with that and lets not forget that the Bush family are(were)in business with the Bin laden family so Bush on one hand is against terror but on the other supports it as I said before Bush and friends should hang with Saddam.

Why was it that many Nazi officials were punished for the bombing of civilians, when the British decided to bomb Dresden to SHIT among countless cities, and the US firebombed the crap out of Tokyo (which killed more than the atomic bomb(s)) not to mention the first and only usage of the nuclear weapon on a civilian target! (well at the time nearly every japanese city had centers for the war effort, but hiroshima and possibly nagasaki had VERY little military value).

HMMM? I never heard of any ALLIED official being tried and punished in the Japan war trials and the Nuremburg. Strange indeed! OH that's right! Winners write history!

I would say there is a pretty good chance there will be announcements in the future that Saddam tried to kill himself and possibly succeeded, in order to tell us the tough son of a gun saddam is, whether or not it happens, you can protest all you want, but don't do it too hard, or you're a TERRORIST ENCOURAGING TERRORISM, and will be summarily shot.

You do not under any circumstance have to be officially enlisted, 18 years of age or older, graduated highschool, at least 5'9", and a male dressed in a battle dress uniform to be considered an enemy soldier. All you need is a weapon pointed at a soldier, any side, to be an enemy.

I am a Vietnamese american, I have read countless left, right, up, down, whatever books about the war, and like i typed, you do not have to be officially dressed and 18 years of age whatever to be an enemy. That being said, civilians were killed, but they were armed and possibly brainwashed (just as americans are, all allegedly), to fighting.

Why do humans think they are "morally better" than animals? Okay, we dress in clothing and do not procreate where we please, for the most part. How is that morally better? Why does that make us better? Moving on, just because humans have technology and tivo, why are we suddenly ethically better than animals? I have never heard of a tribe of monkeys in Africa march to a tribe of monkeys in India and attempt genocide. Nor have I seen a pack of wolves outright kill and eat a member of its pack that is disabled. My point, humans are worse than animals when it comes to sociology. We kill each other and rob each others women, men, and food. But there's a price for tivo and being able to steal your neighbor's internet connection (only for YOU to be arrested for looking at child porn thinking you were the invincible bastard), and we have paid exceptionally well for it.

hopefully someone can make sense of my stream of consciousness, notice it or not, but all the great literary writers never seem to point out plainly their issues.
