I think the editorials are a reasonable privilege for the guys who run this site. It isn't as though they're abusing it . . .

That said, i love the non-biased ones, but the yelling and screaming that takes place on the biased ones is just rediculous.

And the worst part is that i feel compelled to join in because of some racist people's prejudic and ignorancy.

Editorials = Good

However, I think the editorials should be listed in a sidebar; like how the 'Top Stories' and 'Filters' are. That's the way it is in a newspaper. News featured on the front page and some editorials in the sidebar.

I think this would be a good comprimise. The front page news wouldn't be cluttered with editorials. But at the same time, the editorials wouldn't get buried in user submissions and would still recieve front page coverage.

Also, I would like to see users be allowed to submit editorials. However, like user news articles, these wouldn't go directly to the front page. I can't think of how many times I've had something to say to the community, but can't.

Anyone (dis)agree?

I say keep 'em. If you have a problem with what the person is writing about there is a very simple solution...don't read it! Some are very entertaining, others are pure shit...but that should be up to the reader to decide.

I like the editorials...its the lame ad-posts, advertisements, and obvious flamers that are bringing down Shoutwire. Just like there's a Rating system for comments, there should be a similar option for voting for the banning of certain obviously flaming users who give no real opinions, but just spew a bunch of profanities.
