The thing that worries me about McCain is his flip-flopping political opportunism. Taking credit for the GI Bill which he opposed and turning his back on an immigration bill that he introduced are but two recent examples.

There's also his temper, which is apparently the stuff of legend and has led him to become one of the most disliked guys on The Hill. I dunno about you, but I'd prefer it if the most powerful man on the planet were not someone who flew off the handle at the sign of any opposition or counter-opinions.

No, I'm asking that he behave like a rational man and doesn't have a temper tatrum just because other people have opposing views. Its a sign of strength of character and a well rounded personality to show respect to others when their opinions differ from your own. Even when their opinions are incoherent and arguments based on supposition.

I'm not asking for someone who's pussy whipped, I'm asking for someone who has more control over their temper than a 4 year old child.

If we were discussing this in person, which would you prefer, that I listen to your opinions and counter them with a reasoned response, or that I grab you violently by the collar, drag you up to my face and shout at you to shut the fuck up? McCain has done the latter while on a dimplomatic mission!

I like strong leaders, but I like my leaders to be intelligent enough to know how to control themselves. How can you trust a man to be measured with his use of the armed forces of the world's only superpower when he can't do the same for his temper.

Margaret Thatcher was a strong leader, but it was her successor John Major, a quiet, thoughtful man, a figure ridiculed by the British press for being weak and pussy-whipped, who entered into discussions with Sinn Feinn/IRA and paved the way to the Belfast Agreement and peace in Northern Ireland.

You've already had 8 years of a man who shoots from the hip and as a result you're bogged down in two wars, endured thousands of US and allied deaths, and blown a budget surplus and created the greatest deficit in US history, as well as squandered the goodwill and unity the world showed to the US after 9/11..
