Hello everyone. I have promised myself and many other people I know not to do another "farewell" post. But alas, here I am, I cannot resist myself.
I came to know shoutwire through Torrentspy two and a half years ago, like almost everyone here. Since the day I came to know shoutwire till this day, it was one great ride. It was nothing short from being an eye opening experience, where I came to get exposed to tremendously variable points of view that could not have happened in a similar fashion on other areas on the net. From Palestine/ Israel debates, to 9/11 debates. to fun and comical article discussions, to medical and scientific posts. What made it always better was the inflammatory nature of those debates. But sadly it seems like everything else, that this experience finally has to come to an end.
Shoutwire is taking a very different direction from what it was 2 years ago when I first started visiting it, and 1.5 years ago when I first registered. That direction might not be a wrong one. I am definitely not an expert when it comes to running successful websites. In fact some argue that it might be the direction that it needs to take to garner the ranking it once held in the past. However, that is not the direction I see myself investing time into in the future, and I also disagree that it would help achieve it's website ranking it once held. In addition, a large number of pitiful differences and meaningless grudges seem to plague the staff as it stands. Many people have lost the sense of direction they are supposed to take, and the goal they are supposed to achieve including myself.
Putting those ugly issues aside, it has been a great pleasure contributing to this website, although I had planned at some point to up my contributions and time investment to far more than three measly sub par editorials. Despite the fact that this is the internet, and despite the fact that everyone here is not represented by anything more than text, I believe that there was more to it than that.
To the superadmins, who are downright earthly folk, I have enjoyed reading your contributions, and I thank you all for the help you offered me in making my life dealing with this website a little easier, despite any disagreement that may have occurred. Bulshoy, the truth is out there. Dockwats, stop smoking that pot. And Zero, I wish you the best of luck in your marriage and I hope you make a good writer.
To Nod, Vamp and Bebi, best of luck. To Jeff, my cousin is still in Dallas you
texan. Scout, Celtic park it is. To the great commenters that were a large part of the experience that is shoutwire, Immaculate, d22, Hunterpence, shanus, hyena. sammy I thank you for the long discussions. They were truly eye opening, regardless of the extent I disagreed with them. Fido, keep churning those shoutwire shirts.Scobiewan, you better give me some praise.
Is this final? Most likely. Would I ever write or contribute to Shoutwire again? Not unless there is a drastic change with how this place is being run, back to the way it once was, which is unlikely given the current circumstances. But I doubt my contributions will be missed.
Finally here is a short list to my sub par previous editorials:
