i can see this film causing a lot of controversy & probably a few riots. but i also think this film is very important. there are too many people who believe the thatcher propaganda still to this day, these people's stories need to be told.

But i agree that the British, not jus Thatcher, propaganda is just that.Propaganda. Whenever i talk to Brits about Ireland they dont know much about our history or why were fighting. It aint because of religion, catholic and protestant, although that has become a factor which it shouldnt have. It is because us native Irish have been fighting for our Freedom. We have been fighting for equal rights to our british installed unionists and loyalists. We were second class citizens in our own country with minimal civil and human rights and we only got that once our boys, The Provisional IRA stood up and took arms, not only to fight to have our country back but for us to have equal rights and to show that we will not stand for our people being discriminated against whether it be for a job or by the British Police.

And before people waffle at me saying "You support murderer's and terrorist's" I say the day your country is taken over and you go through hundreds of years fighting to be treated as equals and not as lower-beings then you tell me when your men go out to fight the occupying nation that you wouldn't support them. I do however disagree with any bomb that was not aimed at damaging unionist political property or business, that killed a single civillian or the shooting of a cillian. I did agree with the shooting of british soldiers that oppressed and beat, raped and murdered us.

I hear ya seanboy, the propaganda machine went overdrive in the UK to justify picking young men off the street and caging them. Bitch maggie's refusal to "talk to terrorists" prolonged the armed struggle and directly led to the deaths of her own british people.

And don't get me started on her infamous "shoot-to-kill" policy, which shouldn't come as a surprise, given that Chile's evil dictator, Pinochet, was a very close, personal friend of hers.

class, i didn't actually expect a sensible response! do you remember the documentary on c4 about holy cross girls primary school a while back. it caused a major ruckus on the alliance avenue and that was just about school kids. i'm not saying there'll definitely be riots, but if they fight over a docu about school kids, what will they do about one focusing on the hunger strikers!
