Traffic for Shoutwire is currently only 20% to 35% what it was last September. That's right folks--this site used to have 3 to 5 TIMES as many users and traffic, and the current owners have fucked it away.

If someone could get a copy of SW's MySQL database, and/or the SW template (original preferred), then I wouldn't mind setting up something like "www.shoutwirereborn.com" etc. Also, would make sure to reinstate all of the old Admins and Mods etc. if created. And of course, no ads and no censorship whatsoever. Any takers?

I'd be all for going back to the old classic SW design, but there were some limitations to it's interface. This style, albeit isn't the best aesthetically, it still offers a variety more functions.

Like most, I found this site through Tspy and lurked for a year before joining last May. SW's demise really started when Tspy was shutdown, then continued with the site's craptastic redesign, which was sort of the event horizon.

After that, that was it, there was no saving it. So SW is sort of in its last death throes now. I visited once this whole month probably just to post something on the Russia/Canada hockey game in sports.

So I guess this is sort of my goodbye and I might as well read SW's last rites.

As I see it the real problem here is that someone has tried to turn an inherantly open and free idea into a money making machine. This site isnt CNN or Reuters, its Shoutwire. It doesnt really generate anything except comments by its users, and lets be honest here: Who would pay to read our crap? Only us really, but we can do that for free elsewhere anyway.

So:
1/ Kill the retarded adds
2/ Kill the retarded censorship
3/ Keep the format simple like it used to be so that people can actually use it!

Just my 2 cents.

I came here from torrentspy, always amused by the interesting stories on the front page...I miss being able to come here whenever I was bored and browse through a shitload of interesting links. Zero and Bulshoy are probably the only people making this site worth checking out...fuck.

I miss the extreme views and comments and stories making fun of a specific race or country. Things would get so heated, and you could read so many comments, and put your own in, which of course called everyone else retarded and explained how everything ACTUALLY is.
