I may be way off on this one, but I think there may be another reason for the censorship.

My theory is that they censor to deliberately to piss us off. Why you ask? Because everytime they do shit like this, it promotes a wave of site activity. Users are visiting more regularly to check for updates and editorials bashing the censorship, posting more and so on. The last time they F'd us over with the Hollywire crap, I for one was on this site on an hour by hour basis to check for updates and criticism.

As a result, these re-direct adds are getting more hits and site activity gets boosted. Guess what, we are providing more revenue to the owners. The exact opposite of what I'm sure the collective wants to do.

The actual main content of the site is now filled with ads.

I hate this site because of what has been done to it.

You're probably right. And that would be the other solution, the only one if you take into note bulshoy's comment about how we only really have the power to bitch.
It seems that an ol' fashioned boycott maybe something that could creep back into order soon... but are enough of us ready to do that?

ok wtf; i go to the shop, i leave the site page open, i return. I figure that i might as well read the comments being mounted on this 2 ad ed so i click to read, i get redirected to the front page. Wtf i think its the site being retarded again and go to click the link again, but wait it's not there. In place is a new ed by bulshoy "Censorship is Wrong" Oh WHAT THE FUCK HAVE THEY DONE NOW (apologies for the CAPS).

Seriuosly this shit has got to stop, yeah ok 2 ads isn't that big a deal but at the same time it is. This is no different to our governments putting up more cctv or making ID cards compulsary, yeah its not that big a deal but its only the beginning. They get away with this, the next change will be easier and so on, until we become DIGG

out of interest how many regular users are there on Shoutwire?

I only recently started participating and it would be nice to have an idea of the scale of the user base.

I come here because its crazy anything goes freedom. Chaos isnt always pretty but its always intresting. How come the top people in most buisness's are so out of touch with the people they provide their service to. Losing touch with the people your providing the service/product to is the path toward EPIC FAIL. Pull your head out of your ass and start providing what the users of shoutwire want! .... more articles about paris hilton and america bashing ed's
