1. Declare the decision by Burma government to be equal to facilitating genocide of the people and explicitly going against the basic human rights , making their decisions and government mandate null for UN designated international forces sent there .

2. Send in Chinese and US forces , Navies on humanitarian mission , while allowing Burma government to choose between letting them in or being pushed aside .

It's very fucking simple - a government of any country , be it commie regime , junta or democracy can do what it wants as long as such administration does not result in breaches of international law , which would make even China sincerely disgusted . Then the world can gang up on them with clear conscience and the word of such government does not mean shit anymore .

What did you honestly expect from Burmese authorities? They have been committing genocide for decades. Life is cheap over there, and will remain that way. Can more 'civilised' nations muscle in and adminster aid? Depends really if they are prepared to go to war or not, being that the most likely response from the Burmese government would be aggression.

The real problem here, if anyone was considering standing on some moral high ground, is that all this is a direct result of inaction on the part of more civilised nations to begin with. This rubbish was ignored because noone cared about Burma, and if it wasnt for the media and current ambulance chasing press attention then still noone would care about Burma. In a years time it will all be forgotten again, just some numbers on a page.

You want to blame the Burmese authorties for propogating a catastrophe? Where have you caring people been while this rubbish takes place? I think the world needs a bloody good dose of GROWING UP. So what are you going to do about it?

It's difficult to know what's going on in Burma as western press is so 'trend' driven.

First it was a lovely heartbreaking disaster that needed our support. Then it was a fight against the military junta to deliver aid. Then it just stopped being reported at the point when people actually needed guaranteed aid.

I suppose it's difficult for the media to focus when you have so many corrupt governments to deal with, starting at home.
