I'd say that this is pretty retarded.

I wish there was government in a Muslim-majority country we could be proud of, but rebellion, insurrection, strife, political and economic difficulties have plagued the Middle Eastern/African/Asian regions for generations.

Most political leaders are authoritarian strong-men who oppress and bleed their people dry. Iran is no different. Ahmadinejad and his close religious/political circle have some really weird beliefs of how some figure called the Mahdi will return from the dead and lead Iran into glory, and that he is some kind of right-hand of the Mahdi. A sub-sect view of Shia Islam, not really shared by the majority of Shias; who see the idea of the Mahdi returning as metaphorical for 'change will come', whileso Ahmadinejad literally takes the coming of the Mahdi as an event that will occur before the end of his term. Ahmadinejad doesen't really beleive in the ballot, although he is quick to abuse it to gain power, jumping through the hoops to put on a show for the domestic and international community... All while whittling away at the idea of a representative republic, the system advocated and first put in place by Pime-Minister Bazargan after the Iranian revolution of 1979.

I suppose countries like the UAE perhaps come close to an 'ideal' government for Muslims in the modern world... Well alright, maybe not the government, but at least in terms of social views. I admit, we've still got a long way to go.

Hanafi, you are the kind of Muslim that proves every single stereotype and misunderstood generalization about the religion wrong.

it is people like you that truly give me hope and belief that someday, there WILL be a true and lasting peace between Christianity and Islam.

This is quite stupid.....but then again I like the idea of decimating rap from one's culture.
