at that point its not looting, its finding whatever the fuck you can to survive. those assholes just wanted an excuse to run something over and cause harm to that iraqi man any way they could. if the cameras wernt there they probably would have just shot him.

The 'actual' war lasted less than a week. Ever since then, America has been patrolling and policing Iraq. Since when has it been an accepted fact that policemen are allowed to rape and murder as they please?

It was already said that this video was from the initial invasion stage , when "War in Iraq" was still a war .

It is not justifiable that , because it is war , women are gonna get raped, children are going to be killed, and soldiers from both sides of the armies are going to do some fucked up shit. It is bad . And it is not just . It is not HUMANE .

You are dealing in other people's lives , counting them as acceptable side effects . "Collateral damage" . You accept injustice and killing of others for whatever reasons .

If or when ( depending on the popularity of your passive accepting position) you find yourself on the receiving end of another side effect , be it war , purge , repression , unlawful treatment , hunger , you will pray and hope that the people at the other end will stop , but if they think as you , your suffering will be considered as acceptable "collateral damage" . Your suffering and injustice against you , will be acceptable as unfortunate side effect of their policies . People not affected will not care .

And that's why it is bad . You see mainly war which gives some explanation to injustice . The truth is - it doesn't matter what is going on there , war , repression , politics , famine , it's the side effect that really matters , for each human being . And you are one of them . Whatever the reason is - it is not excuse .

Invasions aren't wars. Killing innocent civillians is not justifyable by any codes of ethics straight down from the 1600's.
Nukes? Turn off 24 and at least try and grab a semblance of reality.
Peace will be achieved when the people finally have some common sense and stop listening to the media parrots and force the leaders to be accountable for their fucked up actions.

Actually, invasions are wars. It's practicly the denfinition. Myabe if you pulled your self-righteous head out of your ass for a second you would know that.

Thisisjeff is right in that as long as there has been war(conflict) there have been countless innocents hurt... So much so, that the guy seems to have been desensitised & now completely lacks empathy. I feel sorry for ya mate. Perhaps try to imagine your own family caught up in a war they can't control, picture your mother being raped & father killed for trying to stop it, maybe that'll spark a little 'feeling' for you.

As for the soldiers themselves... i can only hope that the pressures of what they're facing, living in constant danger & fear, is what's driving this bad behaviour. And when they get back home, I hope they can return to a normal life... because most have a lot of issues when they try to deal with what they've done & seen.(check out the suicide rate statistics for war veterans)
