Lebanon on Brink of Civil War

Lebanon stands on the brink of all-out civil war. A general strike by the leading trade union to protest rising prices and demand an increase in the minimum wage has led to armed conflict between the pro-Western Sunni and Druze-based government of Prime Minister Fouad Siniora and the Shia-based Hezbollah and its ally, Amal.

The majority of Christians are standing WITH Hezbollah against the Pro-American illegal government.

Its a Political issue, not a religious one, unlike what most news agencies are trying to portray.

True...However,(always that however) the split between Sunni and Shiite is POLITICS within the RELIGION itself. Therefore it is symbiotic.
The two have entwined themselves a looooong time ago.
So the politics of religion do have a fair amount of say in this fucked up situation.
I do feel sorry for the Joe Bag of Falafel Lebanese who just wants to live a peaceful life. Everyone is to blame, U.S., Israel, Syria, Saudis, Iran, playing with peoples lives like that for a seemingly endless power grab.

Good for Hezbollah! It's about time Lebanon had some decent leadership. Instead of a useless bunch of Poodles.

Oh fuck them...like I said just a fucking power grab like all the rest. They do not have everybodys interests in mind.
Only theirs and their respective masters.
I think if Hezbollah and all the rest (U.S. Syria, Saudis, Iran et al.) would just let the Lebanese work things out for themselves that would be best. Won't happen though...so the wheel of shit keeps turning.

A large majority of Sunni's are backing Hezbollah. Most of the Arab world has a favored view towards Hizbollah because of its stance towards Israel, and you know that most of them are Sunnis. The problem is the Government is trying to turn this into Sunni vs Shiia, when it is simply the people vs the government.

Hezbollah can overtake Lebanon militarily very very quickly. Those are the people that withstood Israel in the last war. Nothing in Lebanon can pose a challenge. But they choose not to.

The best thing about this whole debacle is that the Official Lebanese Military is taking a neutral position towards this whole issue. Today they took the positions of the Sunni's mercenaries and things are stabilizing.

It is very hard to stand against a party that is viewed in the hearts and minds of many people as the only people that can antagonize Israel in the region.

It is about what every Arab country suffers from. The Arab governments are U.S. backed and paid puppets, that serve the United states and not the Arabs.

The negative aspect of that is finally materializing in Lebanon, where the people finally have a chance at saying no to the government.

At the moment, the Lebanese people would profit if the United states stopped fucking with their politics. A major step is overthrowing the current government.

They are about to achieve that with minimal clashes, and with what mostly was civilian disobedience.

Anyhow this is a bit old news now and things have changed drastically on the ground during the past 24 hours.

I knew this was going to happen sooner or later. It's just been one downward spiral ever since Syrian backed elements assassinated Rafik Hariri.

I think Lebanon is one of the most fascinating and unique conflicts in the world. It's a melting pot full of religious and political turmoil. I'm surprised it has sustained 'relative peace' this long since the civil war.

My suspicions indict Iran & Syria may be controlled by the NWO and they are in-turn helping them with their agenda.

Hopefully I am a victim of false suspicions and Hezbollah gains control over the country and restores balance to the region.

This could well be a great export deal for Iran if it works out.
