Circumcision, whether practiced on males or females, is mutilation. It is a violation of our rights, and should be condemned. There is absolutely no medical reason to perform it.

Clinical studies (http://tinyurl.com/4o2ur) have shown that male circumcision reduces the chance of HIV/AIDS infection by up to 71-80% for circumcised men.

Female circumcision on the other hand, has no recorded medical benefits.

@Hanafi

The reason it decreases the chance of HIV is because it causes a mucus membrane to HARDEN. Also, circumcision leads to both premature ejaculation and severely reduces pleasure for both parties. The foreskin is more than just the little bit that covers the glans(head) of the penis, it covers the whole damn thing.

Not to mention that your claim of 71-80% is FALSE and your link doesn't even work.

Chaotica: While I am severely against circumcision in all forms, it does not drastically reduce sensation for males. There is no difference in the glans between circumcised and uncircumcised males, which has been corroborated by numerous studies; however, the major difference comes from losing the frenulum and the ridged band. While it is a certainly a great loss, it does not result in drastically different sensations for both parties.

In the end, however, it is an unnecessary surgery that does reduce sensation, if only somewhat. The doctors that advocate and perform it should be criminally charged for mutilation.

Bah circumcisions...

I cant believe we still cut off bits and pieces of people after birth.

We were all born with those parts of skin attached for a goddamn reason and here people slice them off in the name of some ass backwards belief system.

This includes America as well. Not to mention to circumcise a guy means that he looses alot of the sensitivity in the penis. He'll if I ever had a son i'd never allow his body to be cut and manipulated because of some out dated and incredibly ignorant reasoning.

@Chaotica

What's that you have there, "doctorsopposingcircumcision"... Wow, biased much? My source comes directly from the From the US Department of Health and Human Services:
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Tinyurl botched the link. Here it is:
http://www.cdc.gov/hiv/resources/factsheets/circumcision.htm

patients at sexually transmitted disease (STD) clinics, for whom the adjusted relative risk was 71% lower for circumcised men.
