Rivers said bodies were being dropped into rivers and survivors only had small amounts of eggs and rice. The area's rice mills are destroyed, leaving Bogalay with a five-day supply. Water pumps were also ruined, and fuel was scarce.

The Burmese government is there to persecute its people, not protect them. Nature did the job more efficiently for them.

@ ParticleMan

Dunno what you think, but the whole New Orleans business seems to bare great resemblance here.

not a whole lot, except there was alot of damage and water. the death toll is a little higher tho, and no one kept out aid during katrina, they just didnt bother sending it.

slight difference

"and no one kept out aid during katrina"

The European Union raised 800 million dollar that the USA refused. REFUSED. The USA also refused help teams because 'they could manage on their own'. Which they obviously couldn't.

"they just didnt bother sending it.'

Uhm, that's the same thing as keeping it out. No slight difference at all.

we didnt need their money, we had plenty for them (which has been milked away by corruption). we refused help teams that offered to come, after fema finally got off their asses. remember, they "only" ignored them for the first few days.

so yes, its a big difference. but, like my new strategy for arguing on shoutwire says "whatever, i dont care." there's no point in arguing shoulda, coulda, woulda, and people's warped views of reality.

"we didnt need their money,"

Nice joke. If so, then why is all the wreckage not removed yet? Why aren't the people back in their own original homes? You do understand 800 million is a great help?

"we refused help teams that offered to come, after fema finally got off their asses"

Uhm, no, from the very first day actually. But good of you to mention Fema, they are another good example why the American situation is similar too the one in Burma now.

"but, like my new strategy for arguing on shoutwire says "whatever, i dont care."'

Too bad you've grown numb already. On the other hand, for me that means a striking "Mission accomplished".
