My grandmother had to appeal to her local MP and get registered as virtually suicidal in order to get an operation that would save her eyesight a couple of years back. Not to mention there were several other people who needed the same treatment, yet were turned down.

If I knew where she lived, I'd make sure I paid a visit to give her an uppercut to the tit right after the operation!

Dude I don't know what propaganda they feed you over there, I can only imagine. But the US health care is a very very flawed one indeed.
As much as the NHS has its issues, I'm thankful everyday for having it as opposed to your $ system.
