It's the most expensive thing to own, taxes and all. Especially here.

they could sell their car but then they would have no car and still no money. idk if they guy is lazy but it would be a double edged sword to sell his car.
is the taxes for cars alot over AMSTERDAM?

^ Car taxes are generally high in europe.. Especially up here in the north.. like 70-80% of the cars price is taxes, sometimes much much worse

Yeah, they are. But in the cities its even stupid owning a car, takes forever to get to the other part of town, takes you forever to find a parking space, and then paying. And if your late, you get clamped, which takes you another 2 hours to pay and wait for them to come get it off. Pretty much why you see everybody on bicycles and scooters. They have their own roads..And trams are cheap and fast. ANd don't let me get started on gas prices
