I've read most of the bible. I was raised Christian.
I remember exactly how we were instructed to read the New testament because that's "easier to understand". After you've met a loving Jesus it's hard to change your mind and see that smithing god that the Old testaments introduces.
"Take your son, your only son - yes, Isaac, whom you love so much - and go to the land of Moriah. Sacrifice him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains, which I will point out to you" - Genesis 22:1-18
Satan? Is that You? Why NOOO it's our loving God who wants to be worshipped like a 12 year-old because there's nothing else he can do

Fair enough scout. Debates over religion have the tendency to get out of hand real quick.
Know the bible to some extend, really need to read it and I will. But not until I have the time to read the Qu'ran and Tora as well.

There's more of the new testament there than I can ever claim to have read. I suppose if I took the Bible to be an accurate historical record of anything, this might be more interesting.

Good point, you seem genuine.
I was willing to stick my neck out and take all the abuse going for a couple of hours, but now i'm glad i didn't. I'm flustered already and that's just by Brig and peenmeister, and they're being nice.....I guess Jesus must have changed me mind [-O<

I have met many Christians but I can safely say that Scout isn't one of them.
If Christians were like Jesus they would be hanging out with the drug addicts, the homeless and the cancer victims, not posting here.
They would just give up all earthly possessions and go and spread the holy word. They would also go and kill gay people among other things

Christians contradict each other. There are so many different sects its not really fair to universally apply teachings you find from one source.
That being said...
- There are 3 separate Holy Beings in heaven. Jesus did not pray to Himself.- Jesus is known in the Bible by many names. - Jesus fed the multitudes twice.
If you didnt know the last one, then please go back and deeply study Christianity and its many sects and what they believe before bashing anything.
For those who are atheist, I have always wanted to ask...
- If you do not believe in God, do you believe in devils or demons? Do you think the thousands of satanic, wicca or pagan sects are as delusional as Christians? If the answer is yes, what is the explanation for their practices?- What are the explanations for the paranormal, hallucinations? How about ghosts, spirits, demonic-possession?
I'm not trying to make an argument and do have some Atheist friends who I can't ask these questions because if I mention anything about religion, the bashing begins and the 'grandeur' takes over and they won't shut up. So please for my own reference.

FidoFuck You, I Like My Bike
Up with bikes. Bicycles are the greatest invention since the wheel. Really, there are 2 wheels, making them doubly as good. The downside to bicycling is dealing with idiots in automobiles. White knuckled, bleary eyed buffoons in a hurry to go nowhere. Heads up during a collision, there’s no contest between a bike and a car, the car wins. The only upside is perhaps the opportunity to be thrown headfirst through the dumbfuck’s windshield and then be able in your blood...
