If there is one thing that pisses cops and the legal system off, it's stealing their morning donuts.

For donuts?

I LOVE the 3-strikes law---when it is applied to violent assholes who will not change their ways.

Is there a follow-up on this story?

One of my buddies got hit with grand larceny a while back for taking a laptop off of school campus (its a long story)

But basically, with the felony on his record, even misdemeanors can count against him, if i'm not mistaken.

California felony law is pretty messed up...if you fuck up once, even if its one of those 'it was a fucking accident' kind of things, it will literally haunt you for the rest of your life

@cadpig:

Liberal only in the sense that I find the punishment to be extremely costly to the state. This idiot is a repeat offender too stupid to know any better, but does it make sense to lock him up for somewhat petty crimes?

We don't really know enough about the guy's background from the story. Is the guy an addict? Does he have a job? Does he live with his mom or his brother, and what kind of circle of friends does he associate with?

His first conviction was in 77, then again in 99 for serious crimes, but after that he seems to go back to petty crimes.

I agree that he needs a punishment, but it needs to be something that won't ruin his life, cost taxpayers a lot of money, and keep him from returning to old habits.

Again, it's only the beginning of american fascism. Once Bush attacks american soil with a nuclear weapon (he will do it before the Obama/Clinton election) he will become president for life. Why do you think he and the rockefellers started 9/11? (www.zeitgeistmovie.com)

Why do you think he passed all the anti-terrorism laws? The same laws state that in the event of a nuclear attack on american soil, martial law will be declared and he will become permanent president until such time that he alone deems the threat of terrorism has subsided. This scared the shit out of me when I read the laws back in 2002 but nobody bothered to listen then.

The same anti-terrorism laws strip every american of their citizenship and freedom in such an attack. They may be arrested without warrant and indefinately detained, and nobody cares.

Everybody turned a blind eye to what der fuhrer was doing right in front of them so here is my final warning.

Within the next 9 months, the Rockefellers (heads of the american bank, with unlimited financial resources) will attack america with a nuclear device, blaming terrorists for the action (much like 9/11). This will prompt Bush to not only become president for life, but to send anyone opposing his new power to the death camps already in place outside every american city.

You would do well to murder the Rockefellers and the current puppet president. I don't condone violence unless it produces positive results (killing G.W.Bush would benefit the world and bring peace temporarily to America. Killing the Rockefellers would end corruption as well as stop them from controlling your country, which is a positive thing.)

Nobody will listen yet again, my warning will go unheeded and after he nukes a small city into oblivion and you're all headed by busload to the detention camps you'll wish you had the balls to stand up for yourselves but by then it will be too late. I know this has very little to do with with the poor bastard getting life for a $.50 pack of doughnuts but what it literally does mean is they are winning. The fascists run the country while the sheeple bray and moo. Soon the internet in america will be so commercialized and filtered that you won't be able to read about anything the oppressive Federal Treasury (owned and operated by the Rockefellers) don't want you to.

The war is coming, I know which side I'm on. I know you're very busy being distracted from every angle but while you still have time you should visit this website.

If I have failed to convince you of what is coming then maybe that movie will help. Not only does it expose the actions of the Rockefellers and their connection with 9/11 it sheds a great deal of light on subjects such as religion and the monetary system. A system America fought tooth and nail to escape from in the revolutionary war but america forgot it's own past just as they forget what the war was fought for. They wanted to escape englands bank and subsequently taxation but over the years built a similar system headed by the Rockefeller family. For now I'm done. Those of you smart enough to have read and understood my words are the only ones who know what lies ahead. A nuclear attack on american soil. He didn't hesitate with 9/11 so he won't hesitate now. Good luck, you'll need it.

I'll bet you a hundred grand that that's not going to happen. But then you MUST know that, so why do you claim that it will happen?

I wish we had something like the 3 strikes law. Our court system is a revolving door.

1. Oh you robbed a store! That's a naughty robber *slaps wrist*. Don't even think about doing it again!

2. Ya gone a done it again! You get one more chance to not do it or else!

3. OH GOD HE STOLE THE DONUTS! GET ME THE PRESIDENT!

That's pretty retarded. I definitely think that the third strike should only be in effect for felonies. I sure as hell don't want my money paying for the rest of his life in jail over a 50 cent pack of donuts.

FidoQuick Take On The RNC
Being an open minded individual, I decided to spend a couple hours watching the Republican national convention in St Paul, or Minneapolis, Minnesota, or wherever it is. I had initially tuned in to watch Sarah Palin’s address, in order to maybe get a read on what she may be all about. I regret that I couldn’t get that far. After viewing Mitt Romney, Mike Huckabee and Rudy Giuliani speak to the delegates, I felt an overwhelming need to seek asylum in another country. ...
